It’s been a long ride ya’ll! I started couponing over 20 years ago, and managing deal websites over 15 years ago. Can you believe it? My journey into helping shoppers save money has been a wild ride, with ups and downs. There have been many many many tears of exhaustion, frustration and headaches, as well as the joys of hearing from readers like you who have benefited from my saving sensibilities. It has been a hoot catching the flash of a cell phone camera aimed in my direction from the end of a grocery aisle, or even being asked to sign a store receipt! You all have made me feel like a rock star!!! True, there were those who through the safety of the anonymous internet tried to drag me down with their hate and unkind words, but for the most part you have been amazing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Honestly I’m in tears right now as I type this, even though I knew this day was coming. It’s with a heavy heart that I tell you I am closing down TheWallyWorldWoman.Com. I feel like I’ve made so many friends along the way and I also feel like I’m letting you all down by walking away. But, I wanted to let you know that I have taken a position with my children’s school district which will allow me to spend more time with them. To an extent they have been neglected in my crazy coupon life. I have worked many nights until 3 or 4 am (on SavvyShopperDeals) which didn’t make me a good mom, just a tired one. With TheWallyWorldWoman I had hoped to decrease the amount of time I was working and though I did somewhat, coupons and social media and emails and daily trips to Walmart and 15 store’s ad match lists and coupons apps and printable coupons etc… still ruled a large portion of my life. My kids need me and I need them. My youngest is now in school full time this year and I want to be home when they’re home, have vacations when they vacation, and help them when they need help. My new position lets me do that and more!
I’m still addicted to couponing and saving money and that will never change. It is possible that in the next few weeks, when life settles down and I find my house again, that I may start a new and MUCH SMALLER blog for one store here in Utah that I love. (You can probably guess which one.) BUT, that’s only if I can manage it more like a hobby rather than a job. Walmart has just become too overwhelming, the rules change too often and every store is different for almost everyone. Ugh, it’s so frustrating to not be able to go from Walmart to Walmart across the country and KNOW what the rules are. They are making me mad. So, if you’re reading this Walmart Management, fix your policies and make shopping simpler for all of us!
So I guess this is me signing off for now, but not forever, I hope. I LOVE YOU ALL!
(PS. To those still waiting for their Lunch Bags, I promise they’re coming. We hit some serious snags on that one – geesh!)
